The L&L article, Turn Trouble into a Troubleshooting Lesson by Maryann Molishus is very useful in my opinion. In it she writes what to do with your lesson plan when technology isn't working. I find this to be more valuable because it allows teachers who like to use excessive amounts of technology in their classroom how to make inevitable tech issues into an education in themselves. She also presents a way to make education student-lead and more Democratic. Her advice is simple. When a tech issue arises, and it will, talk your way through the problem. Your students learn to be effective uses of technology and are more capable with technology as a result of your impromptu lesson. Another helpful hint is to open the floor, so to speak. In all likelihood one of your students will be better with technology than you are. This is partially true because for many of us technology is like a second language. However, for today's generation students learn technology as a primary language. Allowing one of your students to solve the problem will boost their self-esteem as well as give your students a way to lead the class. If nothing else, you might learn a thing or two. Great article.
