Intro Letter Assignment - NETS One

Hello. My name is Aaron Sabbas. I am a San Diego native. I attended Rancho Santa Fe Elementary here in north county. I attained my high school diploma at La Costa Canyon HS. I have studied at a few schools since I completed high school. My academic career started at Pepperdine University. I spent three semesters there, one of those semesters I was off campus at the Catholic University of Lyon as part of their study abroad program. Due to personal difficulties I decided Pepperdine was not the place for me. I came back to San Diego and began my public education experience at Palomar Junior College. I spent two years at Palomar and completed in Forensics (Speech and Debate) the entire time. Once I satisfied my GEs I moved onto UC Berkeley where I received my BA in political science. My area of interest is political/critical theory. It is something like a cross between Economics, Politics, Philosophy and History. Great subject to study and UC Berkeley is unrivaled in this area.

I use windows XP on my PC and I am fairly experienced with computers. I can use virtually any program and what I don't know I can generally figure out. I have used computers since I was about five years old.

I am familiar with CSUSMs mission statement, but I really had no impact on my choice to come to CSUSM. CSUSM is known throughout California as having and exceptional education program. I was actually advised my the superintendent of the Rancho Santa Fe district. She said that San Marcos makes the best teachers. Although the line that most stands out to me is "We are committed to diversity, educational equity, and social justice, exemplified through reflective teaching, life-long learning, innovative research, and ongoing service." I feel this sentence represents me as an individual so I am happy that it is part of our mission statement.

This introduction letter also signifies the creation of the classblog itself. This blog and all its biographical content is an excillent way to become a member of a digital and school communities.
